Epubor has done something wonderful...
They have created a program that does exactly what it's supposed to do, does it flawlessly and so simply that anyone, regardless of compute proficiency, can use the program without even reading the manual!
It does one thing and it does it perfectly.
If only all software was this easy and good.
So, what is this wonderful program used for? Quite simply, this program will allow one to take practically any ebook and, by simply dragging and dropping, convert the ebook so it can be used on just about any other devices, whether the device is an Apple or Windows computer, iPad, Android, Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Sony, Kobo, Google Play, etc.
For you techies, the input formats it will convert are EPUB, PDF, AZW, AZW1, AZW3, AZW4, Mobi, PRC, TPZ, Topaz, TXT, HTML and it will output to EPUB, Mobi and PDF (common font size and large font size) formats.
But you don't have to know any of that! Just open the program and you will see your ebooks displayed. Then, as the screen makes very clear, you just drag the books you want converted to the center of the screen and you're done.
Yes, it's that easy.
And now you have an ebook that will work on just about any device. Even if the original ebook has restrictions, copy protection, drm or whatever, Epubor removes it automatically, without you having to do or know anything.
The program has a few other nice extras in it, but the main reason is to simply, easily and quickly convert and unlock ebooks so they can be used on just about any device.
If only all software was that simple and effective...
Simple and easy to use
Does exactly what it is intended to do
No computer expertise needed, if you can drag and drop and right-click the mouse, that's all you need to know how to do
Automatically shows the ebooks on your computer, so you don't have to hunt to find them
Techies: much easier and faster to use than unlock plugins for Calibre, etc. And Epubor works where other plugins, etc. won't
Cons (all very minor):
Might be nice if, during the install of Epubor, it would ask you which folder you want the converted/unlocked ebooks to be put in (perhaps have it default to an Epubor Converted eBooks folder on the Desktop, so you can access the converted ebooks easily and quickly). Techies: you can, of course, go into preferences and change it yourself.
Techies: Change the program so that when you close it, it stops running, instead of going to the system tray, so that you don't have to right-click on the Epubor system tray icon to fully shut it down. This would be especially nice for netbooks, etc. that have very limited resources.
Techies: like all the other eBook converters, doesn't convert eBooks to cbr/cbz format. (Non-techies: if you don't know what cbz/cbr formats are, this doesn't matter to you).
I won't make any money off this software, since it is so easy to use, you won't have to have me help you with it.
currently has three programs,
Ultimate Converter and two DRM Removal programs.
Get the Ultimate Converter, it costs slightly more, but it's worth it, since it will do everything, not just unlock eBooks.
A few points:
1. I can't say FOR CERTAIN that Epubor works perfectly for everything, since I didn't spend months testing it and trying thousands of books. However, everything I threw at it, including some eBooks that other products couldn't convert/unlock, worked PERFECTLY with Epubor with no problems of any kind.
2. As usual, if you go to buy the software and you mention my name, they will say 'Who?', so needn't bother to mention me. As my long-time clients know, I do not accept commissions, kickbacks, or any financial incentives for my recommendations, with the exception of free copies of the software, so I have it available and current, if a client calls up and has a question. So, if I'm lucky and they are nice, they will give me free lifetime copies of Epubor for my computers. I'll let you know after this has been posted for awhile...
